It appears that when Apex Magazine reopens to submissions on June 1, editor Cat Valente will be accepting not only SF but Fantasy stories with a dark edge. Yes, I finally saw The Dark Knight. I try very hard not to hate people but I think I might hate the author of Cinderella Suicide.  In the best way possible, of course.  Her story is one of the sleekest, baddest, most exciting stories I've ever heard on Escape Pod -- kind of steampunk with magnets and razorblades set in the penal colony of Australia.  A story that just makes me smile ( Read more... )
